Default Custom floorboard relocation anyone?

I am a pretty tall guy with long legs and I am having a problem getting comfortable on my 2014 FLHX. I had JBrake forward controls on my 2012 FLHX which solved my problem, but I always wanted to figure out a way to use the stock floorboards...not to mention the fact that I called JBrake yesterday, and they said that production of 2014 forward controls will start next month at the bargain price of $999 (yes, that was sarcasm).
I am toying with the idea of moving the floorboards forward 4 inches and down 1 inch which would place them at a bit of an angle with the front just above the highway bar. I may have to alter the brake lever/pedal for clearance, but I think the project is do-able. Has anyone tried anything similar?

Would moving your passenger floorboards back and angled help your situation?

I thought about the tall boys floorboard lowering kit but I went with the Accutronix forwards on my '14 FLHX instead. When I traded for the UC, the forwards went on it.
The floorboards on the FLHX and FLHTCU put my knees in my face.
I did have to make an extension for my Linbar so I can use the rear brake.
I just put forwards on my new Heritage as well.

I installed the Kuryakyn extenders along with the harley extended reach footboard pans. This gave me +1" out and +2" forward. I also installed a +2" brake and a +2" shift lever. This made a noticeable improvement in comfort.

Try not to go any farther forward than the engine guard or the fender may contact them when making a tight turn and hitting a bump such as entering a driveway. There should be clearance, but things can happen.

I'm not as tall 6'-3"', and ride an '07 FLHR. I hated the angle of the footboards even with them mounted at the lowest position.

My solution was to cut the footboard mounting arms as much as possible, about 1-1/4", then grind to fit and drill new holes for the "hinge" of the boards. This resulted in a level board position instead of the incline.

I use Kury long arm cruise bars positioned just forward and out from the front of the boards. I can use the highway pegs by themselves or keep my heel on the footboard and toes on the highway peg, or feet on the footboards.

I also repositioned my brake pedal. I cut the pedal spool free from the linkage lever, repositioned it and welded it back on. The pedal angle now matches the highway peg angle for smooth transition from highway peg to brake and it's easier to get on the brake from the footboard position.

I did all of this over a period of a few weeks, one or two changes at a time so I was sure of the fit.

I have pictures under the "my garage" section of the changes over the years.
