I have an 07 Ultra , I downloaded the screaming Eagle race tuner, I have the Arlen Big sucker . Now I am toying with the pipes, Just like any other bagger I want the best of both worls. I ride 2 up most of the time. Cannot decide between slip ons or true duels. I am not messin with the motor yet will do that later. I have been looking at Rhineharts, Basinni, V H Ovals. Or dose anybody else have a suggestions. I do not want to loose my low end TQ.
Since you ride 2 up a lot, here's my advice: if you choose true duals (you won't notice the tiny loss of low-end torque) take a look at the Vance and Hines vs. the Rineharts in the radiused areas of the headers. You'll notice that the Rineharts have more of a 90* radius by the left passenger foot board.....very close to her ankle. The V&H radius is smoother and closer to the bike...not so close as to be a heat issue. I have the V&H and like.....no complaints from passengers. True duals will benefit you both in the way of heat dispersal on that right side....huge benefit.
Good reports on those Kerker/Supertrapp SE slip-ons........not too loud.
Aprreciate the 2cents. We are looking at all options. I just do not want to buy and replace and nbuy andreplace. I will ventually work on the motor so I am kind of doing things in stages.
I would suggest you talk to a good Dyno guru and look at the HP and TQ numbers before buying your pipes. I personally have Rhineharts Tru Dual on my RG now. And, found that I've lost a few HPs at the low end with them. With that said, I'm getting excellent HP and TQ at a higher RPM. And, love the sound and the look of the Rhineharts. I'm happy with my decision to get them.

Thanks, I looked at those as well. Everybody seems to be hung up on the Rhineharts and VH ovals. [sm=wtf.gif][sm=wtf.gif]
Your best bang for the buck would probably be going to a set of slip-ons and leaving the stock head pipes on. V&H Classic round slip-ons are a very strong performer. On a stock engine, lots of guys have found the stock head pipe works just fine, if not better than a true dual. This would be minimal cash outlay and best performance until you get your engine build completed.
