Sold my dyna a few weeks ago. Been looking at touring bikes, more specifically Road Glides. I know I want the 96 motor and 6 speed. Which means I'm looking for 07 and up bikes. My question is this. Is there really a big difference in the riding styles of the 08 vs 09 frame changes? I do a lot of highway riding. Sometimes I ride on back roads in the hills but 85% of my riding is on highway.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated as I am new to learning about touring bikes and am trying to figure out what I want.
I have an 08 UC. If you don't ride really aggressively the 08 and older frame is just fine. My opinion is its a 900 lb touring bike not a rice rocket and everyone is entitled to my opinion.
Buy an 09 and up.. Much better feeling bike.. Had a good friend ride my 2011 and he said if he rode it again he would probably get in trouble by trading his 2007... I have ridden older touring models but 09 + bikes just feel way more nimble and planted.. And I don't ride hard..
The bagger changes to the '09 and up . An improved routing of the exhaust pipes, a stronger and much lighter frame. A '09 bagger purchased in California has a catalytic converter, '10 all baggers has a catalytic converter. ( unless removed by previous owner)
