Looking for this long New England winter project already..
Thinking of chrome lower fork sliders. Anyone have any recommendations? Sinister 4" stretch bags with scalloped lids, will be done this week.
Thanks....
Looks nice....you need to do the sliders for sure. There's alot of information on chrome exchanges. I used rick9662. Make sure you get the internals right too since your tearing them down.
I'm using Progressive Mono Tubes, not the best option if you ask me. Others swear by them. Do some research.
What size tire is that? And is the painter local? I'm south of Providence.
Harley for me. I put them on my RKC. I neglected to put the chrome cowbells on and I regret it. They need to be changed at the same time you put on the chrome lowers.
check out willyshiny.com great price and he will clean up harley's poor machining of the forks so that they look good all the way around, instead of just the side facing out

I second willyshiny.com Good quality products, decent prices and a nice fellow .
Like Jim mentioned, do not forget cowbells. You will also need the lower brake side leg bolts in chrome and the chrome wheel spacers to round out.
I also did the chromed calipers and polished rotors (from Whilly) while I was in there. Also used ARP bolt kits for the rotors and calipers. Came out beautiful and draws a lot of attention.

The Harley set up is the last resort. They cost about 5x as much as the after market chromer's and they aren't even completely chromed all the way around.
Like others have mentioned don't forget all the extra chrome spacers, etc. If your looking to really trick it out go for the caliper exchange and go with a hidden axle too.
