This happened to me as well. It was a little unnerving initially, but I soon realized that the majority of the miles on my tires were on fairly straight roads. And while in the twisty's the sides of my poor OEM Dunlops were actually seeing some road surface interaction.
After a couple days in the twisty's the sound went away.
Morale of the story - find more curvy roads to ride !!
Get a different brand tires. Michelin Commander II's, Metzeler ME888's something else and that will vanish. I had that with a 130/60/19 Dunlop I had on the front of my bike for a few months. Replaced with a Michelin and the noise vanished plus I got much better traction, road inconsistency absorption, and feel out of the tire.
Okay, I understand the tire cupping on the Dunlops... On my '05 RK the original Dunlop front tire had 22k on it and you could feel and even see the cupping on it...
Never had the howl before...
Don't know if I agree that improper air pressure is the cause of my problem, as I said I check my tire & rear shock pressures weekly...
My 13 sg does this while cornering. Looked at the rear tire and it has slight cupping near the sides. Has done for a long time now.
Normal but annoying. I noticed the noise around 5K miles and it got worse until I changed them at 20K. I am now on my second set of tires with just over 4K and no noise yet but I'll bet its coming soon.
I hope Michelin has a thin white wall tire before this set wears out.

For one thing a RK is a different beast, the fairing magnifies noise differently than a wind screen. As far as cupping its more likely the weak hydraulic action in the forks where the tire is bouncing up and down on the road, dont believe me look at any tire wear chart on a vehicle they show cupping from weak shocks, air pressure can hasten the wear. The forks are a shock absorber
I have a '14 streetglide with factory dunlops and they started howling while cornering at 10000 miles with 5/32nds tread depth. 11500 miles now and just come back from the dragon, still howling, no cupping
Mine started humming at about 3500 but most of my miles are 2 up and I ride twisty roads about 50% of the time. I'm glad I saw this I was considering posting this same question.
