Default Voltage Regulator

I'm experiencing voltage fluctuations and my bike is throwing a code referencing voltage...after I test what I need to test, is there a video on how to remove the '12 voltage regulators?

My 09 manual doesn't account for the oil cooler....I guess I could unbolt the cooler and secure it to the frame while I replace the regulator....

Is that doable?

Thanks.

Checking with the dealer didn't help for me but it's worth a try. The service bulletin on the regulators expired a couple months ago. As far as installing the new one, it's pretty straight forward. I just removed the bolts for the oil cooler so it can be moved out of the way to access the regulator bolts. You don't have to remove the oil lines as there is enough slack in them.

Be sure you have 3 phase power, app. 20 volts, from the stator before replacing the regulator. Chrome reg. is 40 bucks cheaper than the black if you care.
