i am really really confused on what i should do here. i want true duels on my 07 rkc.
i have the v&h slip ons. i like the sound but i am not satisfied yet with it. i want a deeper sound.
i have been toying around with the v&h true duels or scrap the whole thing and go with the
rinehart true duels. the comlete set headers and pipes)
fyi i do have the se a/c and the v&h fuel pack. i ride 2 up a lot and i am afraid of loosing the low end. i have heard to many up and down stories on the the duels. along with that i live in florida and the heat is horendious down here. that is one of my major reasons for going to the duels.
I went with the V&H Tru Duals and their Oval Slip Ons. Figured if I didn't like the sound of the slip ons, I can still change to another slip on. I may be wrong but the Rineharts doen give you that option. Just a thought since you're halfway there.
Well going to the true duels will get rid of that right leg heater! But does the fuel pac have O2 eliminators? what do you do about them? I have allways heard with the v-twin engines the best performance and efficiency come from a two into one pipe...I owned a 1500 kaw classic few years ago put v&h straightshots on it fuel mileage went down and yes lost some torque at low end, later lost hearing so decided to go to a two into one from roadhouse brand what a huge diff improved torque and fuel mileage...but hey those v&h pipes were sweet...
i have samson caliber true duals...the slip ons come with two sets of removal baffles. The sound is great and i have more torque...seat-of-the-pants testing. Been running these for about a year.
Hang out at a busy harley store on a good weather saturday. chances are you'll be able to hear most exhuast combinations. I went with what bogeyman has, couldn't be happier. Also with True duals, you do balance out the heat from the right side a bit.
CORGI
as i can see you have just about the same set up as i do.
do you find your low end is a little week. likei said i ride 2 up a lot and i need that extra torque for take off. there are a lot of opinions out there.
I converted my stock head pipes with a Fullsac true dual conversion and installed the Rinehart slipons. The sound is great, just what I wanted. And if I ever did want to change the mufflers I can just buy another set of slip ons. I dont believe you can do that with the Rinehart true duals
I went with Rinehart TD's and love the sound. The torque and power have BOTH gone UP. It is true that you can't use other mufflers with the Rinehart set up, but they look sweet. If you don't like the black tips that come with the set up all you have to do is buy the chrome tips. Good sound, power, priceand looks should give you something to think about. Cyborg sells them for $675.
