Morning folks......I changed the rear lights on my 2013 Tri-Glide three weeks ago to LED lights. Already had the LED turn signal lights on front. When four-way flashers are on the security key comes on. The HD service dept. just called and said I need a Load Stabilizer to keep the security key from coming on and distribute the current when changing to LED lights all around. Is this a true statement? If you changed to LED's on a 2013 or older trike, did you have to add the stabilizer? (Note: First the dealer wanted to install a 64-amp (stator ?) to the tune of $1,200!!!
Barbara,
The load stabilizer should cure what ails your lights. But you will be drawing less amps with the LED's. So really no need for the 64amp ststor, unless you are having other electrical problems.
I just last summer had that stator installed in mine, but my old one had a problem and warranty covered it. The 64 amp stator was all they had on the shelf so that was what went in with a new regulator..
