Strange feeling or vibration on my 15 tri when going into corners kind of fast . Feels like maybe a wheel bearing in the front, but i had it up in the air and everything seems smooth when spinning the front wheel.
Back wheels feel fine and spins feely. Maybe it could be the front tire kind of scrubbing the pavement going around corners. I lost my hearing in my left ear, so really can't tell if it's making any noise.
I guess just because the front wheel bearing feels good just spinning the wheel doesn't mean it's good. These trikes must really side load the bearings when cornering.
Question to all who ride one of these, is anyone else feel anything like this ? Thinking back, i think it has done this since new, but seems to have gotten worse. Thanks !
Maybe it has been the same since new and your speed when taking a corner fast has increased! My idea of a "fast corner" last year is not close to what I now consider fast! Do you brake taking a corner? Are your tires newer than the bike? What pressure do you use? I know the more comfortable I become with my trike, the more sensitive I am to every odd sound or feel. Any chance you can take another similar trike for a test run to see if it does the same? Or, do you know another competent trike owner who is willing to take your trike for a test?
Both of the above posts make sense. Running 36 psi in the front tire and i am sure i run the corners faster than i did before. Front tire is newer too. Balanced out perfect with no weights needed.
I have had front brake issues since this bike was new and the front rotors do have some color to them. I have had air trapped in the front system and have had front brakes drag before too. I had to bleed and bleed them again. Cleaned the caliper pistons and that straighten it out. This may make the most sense, a warped rotor. The rotors have been warm before.
When it does it i am not on the brakes, just taking a turn sort of fast and shifting alot of weight either direction.
I have a new to me this year, 2013 trike. What I've noticed going hot into a corner, during hot weather, is the front tire is skipping, especially if I'm on a tar snake.
So, now I slow down a bit before I enter the corner and then power thru the corner..
