Freedom Shields Windshield
So is the Freedom Shield worth the money? From all the reviews I have seen, it really helps with buffeting. My issue I think I have with them is their sizing. I am half way between the 2 sizes.
Any other recommendations? Klock Werks? Clearview? LRS? Harley WindSplitter? Or Harley stock-ish but shorter?
I've looked at answers on here and seems we are all pretty tossed.
Really want it for a couple reasons: 1) Current windshield is center of my eyes. 2) Maybe hear the audio better.(Just did audio upgrade and haven't ridden since). Being 5'6" if that helps make a difference.
Thank you in advance all!

Usually the top of the windshield should be level wit the tip of the rider's nose and with a recurve windshield at that height you shouldn't be getting any "buffeting.
At one time Freedom Shield would allow a return provided that the protective film that comes on the windshield is not removed.
This would give you time to mount the windshield and try it out and be able to return/exchange it if necessary.
I've had my Freedom Shield "Touring" recurved lightly tinted windshield on my trike for several years and my only regret is that the top of he windshield is right in my line of sight and I find myself trying to either look over it or look through it during daylight hours and I have to look over it after dark.
In hindsight (and If and ) WHEN I order another Freedom Shield I would either go an inch lower than the one I now have OR I would go an inch higher with a clear shield as I could look through it at all times.
On a side note another thing that I didn't think about when I ordered the "Touring" windshield was that I have the relocated, optional mirrors that uses a one piece lower windshield that connects with the two rearview mirrors so I have I had to make some "adjustments" to make clearance between the mirrors and the edges of he windshield.
I ended up placing two pieces of plastic furniture spacers on top of the fairing to raise the windshield up a tad to create the needed gap and it works like a charm.

So when I got my new 2015 FLHTK, the wind buffeting was so bad at 50-60mph it shook my head and caused a lot of noise. It was horrible.
I tried the Freedom Shield, nice and thick and sturdy, with no distortion. But I bought the Touring version which is about 3" wider at the base. Made it catch too much wind for my liking, helped a lot with buffering yes, but interfered with steering. Maybe the regular width one would have been better.
So then I bought a Klockwerks, didn't like that one either. Best I remember it was distorted when looking through it. Did not help with buffeting.
Tried the fork fangs, too much steering interference from wind, and just looked ugly, lol. I did get a lower triple tree wind deflector, and it really helped a lot.
Next I a tried a Long Ride Shields, the Mega Curve. It really does have a mega curve, and it works good at eliminating buffeting, had some steering interference, but not bad.
However I changed seats and it lowerd me a lot, so I had to get another windshield.
So I settled on a Long Ride Shield, Ultra Gold Series, Medium Tint. Not as sharp of a reverse curve as the Mega Curve, but just the right amount of curve to deflect the wind up and over. Perfect for clearly hearing my new sound system.
I look over the top of the windshield and can duck down just a bit to look through.
One thing really helps if youre trying to eliminate buffeting is the lower triple tree wind deflector.
BTW, I have three windshield for sale here, the three mentioned above.

After riding with an LRS 19'' recurve on my RK was 10 years or so I recently replaced with an 16'' Freedom Shield recurve and love it. The shield sits below my eye level and no buffeting. The Freedom shield is a bit wider and noticeably thicker than the LRS. It also states on the Freedom site that you can use regular Rain X on the shield which I have been doing.

Thankfully I have stock mirrors, so no need for modifications for me.

Thanks for the triple tree deflector recommendation. Something I didn't think about.
We will see where this ends up.

I’ve not found one shield that does it all. I have 3 in various heights and tints that I switch depending on the weather and type of ride.
