Default Changes since 2009

Looking at a 2009 TG but wondering what Harley has changed form 2009 to 2012. I know there is a gearing change. What else?

Well, I think the 09 did NOT have the cat in the header. The 10 on up do.

A much much better designed trunk door. Better gearing: 30T front sprocket versus a 32T.

The side panels on my '12 seem lighter constructed than the one on my '10.

Only CA emissions equipped 09's had a converter, 2010 and later have them on all 50 state modles. Starting with the 2011 modle they switched to a 30 tooth transmission sprocket, moved all assembly to the York PA facility, made several changes internal on the engine along with a redesigned throttle body. The 2012 MY has a few minor mechanical changes, nothing earth shattering.

I know they did change the transmission 5th gear in 2010, you could hear 5th in 2009 touring bikes. Of course, the paint colors....

My '09 (California Cat) has a noisier 1st gear than wife's '11, also the reverse relay and 'stuff' were relocated to the right side cover. Pretty much ride about the same. Wife's seems a bit faster, probably the lower primary gear and the fact that I'm 100 pounds heavier. AND she does have a "lead wrist"
