The only 2 models in the Vrod line up; are the Night Rod Special and the Muscle. Not sure what you mean by saying you rode a Vrod and a Night Rod Special?
He's probably referring to the Muscle. A lot of people refer to that model as the "Vrod Muscle"

Yeah, I meant the muscle and the night rod. I guess Vrod is the lineup and not the model.
I like a tire that I can corner on (no 240 for me) and brakes that have the power to stop a quick bike (Brembo) The only option for that combination is the 2006, which still has the 180 rear tire and Brembo brakes. I added an aftermarket tank to get me over 5 gallons, so I couldn't be happier with the bike.
I picked up a VRSCR (Street Rod) when they came out in 2006. Transitioning from a sport bike, I wanted something with zip that was still fun on the twisties. The R fit the bill. The increased ride height and mid set controls, allow for more sporty ride - its by far the most capable HD ever made, in my opinion. For some reason, HD didn't market it well and it died after model year 2007. You can find a clean one with low miles for well under $8K.

Not true, the VRSCD (2006-2008) which had 180 rear tire and brembo brakes. 2007-2008 had 5 gallon tanks, and 2008 had slipper clutch, 1250cc engine with feedback, larger battery, different exhaust cams and abs option
