belt squeel!

What would cause my belt to squeel?It only happens on deceleration.I installed a Hogpro 240 kit myself.

Often chrome in pulleys especially new pulleys will make noise. You can change the tension on the belt, or even use light oil or lube on the belt to see how it does. I used powder graphite on the belt when I put my weld wheels on and it worked good until you washed the bike and then I would have to apply it again. After a while the belt broke in to the new chromed pulley.

Max is right, it's probably just not broke in. My belt squeeled like a stuck pig for a while but after it was run for a while I've never heard it again.

Thanks guys,now i can get back to ridin worry free.

How important is it to use a tension gauge?or is guessing & using my finger good enough?

The manual says to avoid using an estimate because most often the belt is under-tightened and causes failure of the teeth. I use a belt gauge and would recommend it. They're a whole lot cheaper than a new belt.

Or the down time of the bike.
