Default 6 Speed

Do they make a 6 speed upgrade for the VRSCA? I would love to have a .80 ratio 6th gear.

Why ?? Even at 80 MPH your tach is still well below 7000 rpm . But to answer your question no . You can go to an 30 tooth front or find a smaller rear if you want less RPM's.

These would help but your going to suffer on the low end. I can see why you would want a 6th gear but triple buzz is right, you really don't NEED it. I think you're still somewhat in the air-cooled mindset.

Despite all of that, I'd probably get one if it was offered. I just doubt anyone's rushing to make one.

Running a 30 tooth front does drop your rpm and increases gas mileage. drops rpm by about 500 rpm and the gas mileage increases about 3 to 4 mpg.

I think this bike can have both speed and economy if there was a wide ratio 6th gear that allowed a cruising speed of 70mph at 3000-3500 RPM. I think 50+ MPG would be possible at that configuration.

The problem with the VRSC is that there is no roomin the rather small case for a 6th gear. To put a 6th in you would have to replace all of the gears by reducing the width of each gear to make room for the additional one. Thinner gears would fail far easier, especially at the higher HP and RPMs that the Revolution is capable of. To make it work you'd have to make the gears out of a harder material but that would make the cost of a gear set outrageous and therefor not cost effective. Spend a lot on gears and your savings on fuel economy would never be seen. Because the engine case and the transmission case are one in the same, you cannot simple replace the transmission case like those in an air-cooled H-D.

Problem is that in the end we are riding on a rather tight bike, everything seems to be crammed in. Why do you think H-D had to go to such a wide frame to make room for the 5 gallon tank? It wasn't for the 240, I've seen 260s under the small fender. Things are just too tight and that is why no one is rushing to make a 6th for the VRSCs.
