Had to replace the battery in my 12 NRS. It really takes some digging and parts removal.
However it was time for new plugs so I took care of that at the same time. The coil over the plugs boot was frozen to the plugs. I thought they would tear off but got them out okay.
From start to finish it took me 4 hours. Since it was the first time I think the next time would take a lot less time.
It has been raining every day all day so I haven't been able to get it on the road to see how it runs now.
Be careful, Iridium plugs tend to mess with the ION sensing systems and messes with the ignition timing. I use the Factory Double Platinum Spark plugs to be safe seeing how they have the same resistance as the copper core and last much longer

100% internet BS. First the iridium plug is spec'ed for the HD engine resistance requirement. And NO plug has anything to do with engine timing in any way shape or form.
The ion sensing only measures total resistance and the plug has the same amount of resistance so it does not add or reduce the level of resistance that triggers the ecm to retard the spark.
All an iridium plug does is provide a more concentrated spark and is the best choice for E10 gas. It is self cleaning. Those two factors are why most new cars of most makers come standard with iridium plugs like Toyota and others. The platinum plug is close in performance but not quite to the level of iridium which the wire is harder and smaller in diameter than the platinum.
Sportsters and M8's do not use ion sensing systems. The M8 does use a microphone.
I only use iridium plugs in all my bikes which includes every H-D motor from the 80 inch Evo, the Sportster 883 and 1200, the Street XG750 and Street Rod XG750A, TC 88-96-103-103 HO-110-120 ST-120R, V-Rod 1250 and a M8 107. That use includes over 400K combined miles on them. So tell me that iridiums don't work.
