My VROD
Here are some pictures on my 03 Anniversary Edition. I just bought it in December from a guy. It's in kinda rough shape. She's running a tad rough, tires are mismatched, dirty as hell, rust everywhere...the chrome on the cylinder head covers and several other chrome parts is flaking or damaged. I'm trying to restore/upgrade it little by little. The grips were sticky and degraded so I put Harley Davidson Rubber and Chrome grips on it. The foot pegs we're worn and scraped to crap so I put Harley Davidson 4" mini floor boards on it. I changed the shift linkage which was severely bent. One of the front blinkers is physically broken and won't stay straight, so I bought mirrors with LED blinkers integrated into the stems. I just need to install them. I also bought a pre-owned set of Harley Davidson highway bars...they will need paint to match the bike, but they still need to be installed as well. As far as the chrome issues, I have several Honda, Harley and Suzuki parts that need to be rechromed. So I'll be talking the VROD's poorly maintained chrome parts to have them chromed whenever I do the other parts. I'm also taking the wheels and having reliefs cut into them, again at some point. I did buy a used Dan Moto exhaust, but I am unsure of I am going to use it or not. I also changed the air filter as a first step in trying to get the get the bike to run better. I'm going to redo the 15,000 maintenance because I do not trust that it was done, or done properly if it was. While I am doing that, I'm taking the fuel injectors to my buddies marine shop and having him rebuild them. I'll be adding spark plugs and spark plugs and wires to the things getting changed, and I am looking forward to getting some Pirelli Night Dragons on this one. The thing that is still kicking me, though, is that there is a flat dent in the airbox cover from where some stupid chick sat on it and bent it...not on my watch and I only half believe the story of how it happened in the first place. But that is my VROD. and despite all the things that are wrong... I still love riding it.
