Lots of newbies sacrifice power for sound. Heck, it sounds fast right? Just keep the stock ones on for now and enjoy riding.
Hell no it dont sound fast lol, are you kidding me!!??? The freakn stock exhaust sounds like a dang moped. Theres nothing drafts sounding about a factory vrod lol. Thats the reason I hate them, plus loud bikes save lives. Is it fast yes!!! Does it sound fast... at all... even remotely fast..... HELL NO. I hate the stock exhaust sound lol. My ol lady has a 600 shadow that sounds more like a Harley than my Harley lol. I cant believe they produced a Harley that sounds like they do lol.
If you outran a GSXR750, whoever was riding it was NOT riding it. The GSXR 750 is cable of tens in the quarter mile. Your Revo is lucky to see mid 11's. (no slouch by any means)
In any case, look up CFR exhaust.

He was riding it, here we go with with this now lol. He wasnt a happy camper at all. The GSXR might be capable of higher speeds if the road was longer...I mean obviously yeah. Read what I said. In a half mile stretch I outran him with straight pipes. He was coming back on me by time I got to the curve located at the end of the half mile. I know how fast a GSXR will go lol. Im a crotch rocket guy. I have a TL1000R superbike and a badass old school zx11 that is a monster. Im new to harleys which is why Im on here getting advice about exhaust lol. The guy on the 750 has been riding for years. We are at the strip all the time during summer (until corona got here lol). He just ran outta real-a-state, but yeah with another half mile, I would been toast, the vrod would have hit the rev-limiter way before the GSXR....gotta read what I wrote lol.
Back to the comment, yeah Ive heard of the CFR exhaust but a lot of ppl on here arent fans because they say its hard to tune to them, others say bad quality physically but idc about the looks lol, but yeah Ive been thinkn about them, I just wanna make sure there is no pooping or missing, etc.
BBM quotes 1/4 mile times and OP says he outran him in 1/2 mile. Just saying......dude, maybe you were racing and your friend didn't know until you hit the end of the road. LOL!

nah we left at same time, sorry, and ur lookn at a spec time listed online. You can look up specs at 5 different sites and get 5 different specs, hp, torque, and top speeds. Cant always go by what you see on there. Also thats with factory exhaust on the vrod....... that is my whole point exactly. I had straight pipes basically drag pipes. You would probably also tell my a hayabusa will always outrun other sportbikes as well.....which is also crap because Ive busted several biass on my Tl1000R and also on my ZX11. So go ahead and believe everything you read online lol. 👌
I don't care how straight, long, short or otherwise the pipes on your (stock) V-Rod are, you are not faster than a gixxer 750. Period. You can probably snag him out of the hole and/or 100" but the longer the race the more likely he will (should) pass you.
As far as the CFR, not hard to tune at all, been running one for 12 years. If you have doubts try the Indy exhaust from Vance & Hines, although pretty much the same pipe. There are other as well - Aprokovic and Danmoto.
Back in 2003 TAB performance sold those short turnouts. I ran them until my ears started to bleed. Add a tuner and turn up the fuel. Your not going to hurt that motor.
