V-Rod Muscle - missing gears?
If any of you V-Rod Muscle owners out there with forward controls miss a shift from time to time, it might be worth adjusting the gear lever rod. I found that if I adjusted the lever to the same angle as the brake pedal I stopped missing shifts altogether. I mustn't have been moving the lever quite far enough, and adjusting the position slightly was all that it was needed.

Missing a shift from time to time.
You are absolutely right, it is funny how a really small adjustment makes such a big difference as I found several years ago on my Muscle. When you unbolt the "Rose" joint at one end to adjust the rod, it is worth putting a good grease on the joint. This helps keep the changes smooth and keeps out water and corrosion. I reapply grease each autumn when applying ACF 50 (yes I have been out in our UK sunshine today and hope to ride throughout our autumn/winter here).
