Would you??
dont own either, too young and too poor lol. I personally LOVE the look and the feel of the night rod specials. I will not buy anything else before i buy one. So I persoanally would say do it but the guy before me is right, it's about what you want.
Just a thought. I would consider renting one for a few days and see if it is worth it too you.

thanks guys, I was actually going to get a special before the ol' lady said she wanted to tag along. that's why i got the king. Don't get me wrong, i love that scoot, but, it just ain't me. I always liked the special. I guess I'll just have to see what the dealer will do.
well my theory is this as far as that is concerned. Make her get her own scoot, lol. And I thinkn you can probably get a seat that would fit the two of you. may not be as comfy of a ride but i would never comprimise myself. then again i'm 20, arrogant, and don't havean oll lady to boss me around.
I personally don't like trading, if you do it you should try and sell the RK and then go buy the special. And before you do anything you should see if your dealer has a demo special you could ride. There will be a huge difference in comfort switching over, nothing that can't be fixed (new seat, extended or reduced pegs etc..) I for one would LOVE to have a Road King but there's no way I'm gettin rid of my Vrod so untill I got enough money for both I'll be on the V.

Have both if you can. I have RKC & V-Rod. Two distinctly different personalities. If you ride 2 up most of the time stay with the RK as the wife may not like being strapped to the back of the V as opposed to sitting on the RK sofa.
I traded my 07 FXDL for one. Got my DX for 2k under MSRP, had gotten the 07 for 2k under MSRP... so with the trade I ended up owning 2k more than I did before the trade, and, what I would have owed if I had bought the DX at MSRP in the first place... so it worked out...okay on the financial end.
Test ride it first, you will either love it or you won't. It's a different ride for sure.
If you like it, go for it.
