But the VRXE (Still a V-Rod by the looks of it) is the fastest production bike made, doing sub-9 runs in stock form.

And A. Hines has run his V-Rod 1/4 in under 7 seconds, making it I think the fastest.

Neither of these bikes run on the road all that often though...

Monk, the Vance and Hines prostock bike is not revo powered. It is a handbuilt motor . the bike takes the looks of a vrod just as a top fuel funny car takes a body of a mustang or what ever they run . The destroyer is not street legal so people don't give it any credit as the quickest bike. Put slicks, bars and a slipper clutch on a busa and see what happens.

Are you aure about that?

Gainesville Raceway, site of many of drag racing's most historic moments, including the first 260-, 270-, and 300-mph Top Fuel runs, hosted another one this year when reigning NHRA POWERade world champion Andrew Hines became the first member of the Mickey Thompson Six-Second Club with a 6.991 aboard his Screamin' Eagle Harley-Davidson V-Rod. Hines accomplished the long-awaited feat during Friday's second qualifying session, drawing a standing ovation from the many fans who braved unseasonably cool temperatures in order to be a part of history.

Everything I can find says it was some manner of SE V-Rod... are the engine specs anywhere?

And just because people don't acknowledge it doesn’t make it so: The VRSXE is most definitely a V-Rod, and a production bike… I’m sure someone has put a slick and a wheelie bar on Hybusa… But as it stands, the Destroyer, made my H-D, is the fastest production bike you can go out and buy. And there are dealers with them just sitting on the floor.

I have first hand knowledge along with a Riverton City, WY LEO's signature on a speeding ticket where I was clocked at 148 mph in 2006 on my way to sturgis on my 2005 VRSCA. not a very fun way to show proof but still a fact. not bragging just showing my stupidity for going that fast on a public road. i got what i deserved but still enjoyed a portion of it.

142 mph on the highway with me riding it.
Then add in speedometer error. When my speedometer reads 100 MPH, its actually 94 MPH checked with GPS.
Well, maybe yours is unfortunately off but my 142 was corroborated by two other bikes (both crotch rockets, oneshowing 140 andthe other at 143)---hard to imagine thatall threeare significantly off. Your 6 mph discrepancy at 100 could very easily mean 10 at 140. I seriously doubt I was only running at 130

Not to mention the other two.

Almost all bike speedometers are off, I have checked all my bikes over the years and not one was on. The faster you go the futher off they are.
My other Hondas, Harleys and KTM's have been off anywhere from 5-10 MPH at 100 MPH.
