2. ALSO LOOKING TO REPLACE THE STOCK EXHAUST WITH BUB 2>1 AND RACE TURNER MODULE. ANY COMMENTS ON EITHER SUBJECT APREACIATED
1. JUST BOUGHTTHE 105ANIVERSERY ROD, LOVE IT, BUT I'VE HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE SHOP 3 TIMES IN THE FIRST 2 MONTHS. LOSE GROUND WIRE, BIKE WON'T REACH 9000 RPM (SHOP SAYS REV LIMITER IS SET AT 8200) ?, GAS GAGE READS FULL FOR A LONG TIME(SHOP SAYS GAGE SENSES FUMES AND NOT FUEL LEVEL SO IT TAKES 20 OR SO MILES TO GET RIGHT) ?, JUST NOTICED THE BIKE DEVELOPED A MISS AT VERIOUS RPMS. IS THIS COMMON TO HAVE SO MANY ISSUES WITH THIS MODEL OR IS JUST THIS BIKE ?. I'M THINKING FACTURY ASSEMBLYQUALITY.

The Rev Limiter is lower when the engine is cold or has been running for less than 2 minutes. It then allows the limit to go to 9,000ish.
The gas guage is ****. The ultrasonic guage has known issue, and they are looking into it. Using the trip odometer is what most folks use to accurately guage fuel use. The tune on the bikes stock is notoriously lean. It's part of the EPA compliance issue with the V-Rods.
2. Rinehart 2-1's make good power. I've heard good things about the Bub 7 2-1's too, but I haven't seen them first hand......yet.
I agree with Cody....1130cc.com is THE PLACE for all things v-rod.

They are bullet proof in stock form. Your's sounds like someone may have been fiddling with it. There is a warm up rpm limiter that restricts the bike around 7000 rpm, once warm it should be 9000. This can be adjusted with a sert, or PC-iii. Loose grounds happen, but again makes me wonder if someone wasn't working on the bike and didn't tighten the ground. The bike will tend to lug around 3000 rpms due to the lean settings of the ECM. The engine is designed to work best between 4000 on up in all gears. The bike is the most solid of all Harleys. It is desinged to be reved at high rpms.
