TAB Fuel Manager
Does anybody have experience with these?
I have a 2008 VRSCAW with Vance & Hines slip-ons and a SE high-flow air filter. My dealer told me it wouldn't run right without a race tuner and 2 hours of dyno time, but I didn't feel like forking over another $700+. I have almost 2k miles on the bike and it runs well, but I do hear the occasional "pop"/backfire with hard deceleration.
TAB sells a fuel manager for $250 that has 10 custom maps and sounds like I can do the install myself: http://www.tabperformance.com/servlet/Detail?no=18.
It sounds like a good deal. Any thoughts?

If you're hearing the occasional pop on decel...you are probably running a little lean. \\; I'm surpised the V&\\;H Fuel Pak is not installed.

From what I've been told, the Tab tuners are OEM from Doebeck and these \\;are good tuners...no computer necessary and easy to adjust. \\; The Power Commanders are also good tuners and you'll need a PC to tune the bike and they are $15 more. \\; It's simply a matter of what will accomodate your set up and your wallet. \\; I'm thinking you may more likely find \\;Power Commander maps for your set up more than they would have a Doebeck tuner set up for you. \\; But, I am not 100% sure of course and this is just a gut feel. \\; You can pop in one of the maps. \\; Keep in mind you got an 2008 so maps may be hard to find. \\; Try 1130cc.com as well as here. \\; Both tuners are user installable.

I looked at the easternperformance website and they have the Power Commander tuner and the V&H Fuel Pak. Now I don't know which one of the 3 to get. The V&H is the cheapest and my pipes are V&H so that sort of makes sense, but the Power Commander seems more fine-tunable.

This should help. \\; If the only motor mods you plan on doing is pipes...get the V&\\;H FuelPak. \\; If you are gonna do more mods...I would go with either a HD SERT (preferred) or a Power Commander (least preferred).
