purcased a 2009, sun glow red after owning a 2010 street bob, what a big difference in power and riding comfort. my friend has a 2009 yamaha v star 1800 and swores that his bike is faster than my vrod muscle, had a chance this past weekend to see what was up, we where on the freeway and geared down to about 40 miles per hour and went at it, i left him about two miles, he has alot of respect for the vrod now!!
I got an 09 V Rod Muscle , after owning an 07 Softail custom with 37k miles,.first few rides where a bet difficult , till I found a cofortable possition and got used to the bike , if you had a Harly to , you need to give it a few ride till you actually get broken in to the bike , . Aomth has gone by . I am 53 years old , guy , not into spped or crazy stuf . I was incolved in a very bad motircycle accident , not of my foilt , i decided to stay with Harley but wanted to make sure I get a bike with better handeling , brakes and adavanced tecknology to increase my odds of survival ifcin case shet hapoens .
Defently recomand the this bike , and to top it designe wise , it is just mezmerizing , just give it a chance , can mot govwrong , safe ride
The entire V Rod line has plenty of Muscle - They all have the same horsepower
and torque rating - all have 5 speed trans. same gearing...It's just that one of them has been dubbed "Muscle"
In the words of American Iron Magazine "These bikes do not pretend to be muscle bikes - They ARE MUSCLE BIKES!
Here's a pic of an VRSCAW showing what can be done with the
"A" series - there are a lot more options for an "A" "B" "D" than there are for and "F"
wow this is an old *** thread. i've owned my 07 NRS since sept 06 and i like it better than the muscle simply because the NRS actually fits me better. i have a 27" inseam and the pipes are to wide for my footing. i like the muscle taillight better than the 2012 NRS taillights to much of a victory look now.

My 09 AW fits me much better than the muscle did and much better than a 2012 NRS I was looking at
VERY Old thread...but after reading..WOW. I'll stick to my 2011 VRSC "F". Besides, People comment more on that than my 2013 CVO Softail "Breakout". Just doesn't seem right, but WIN-WIN.

Reason: Insert Pic
Since buying a F this year, it's been the most commented on bike I have ever owned. Buying fuel can be a chore at times, what with folks just wanting to know more about it. Don't see allot of VRODs on the road.
I love the VRODs. If I ever go to another bike it's the way I'm going to go. I love that low-slung brutish drag-bike look. I'm starting to see more of them, and they attract quite a bit of attention from the younger people wondering what it is. For some reason it reminds me of the Vincent Black Lightning, I don't know why:
