Default any regrets?

Coming from a sport bike, I feel the need for a balance between comfort and performance. However, I am torn between the new Muscle and the Dyna Fat Bob. I know they are completely different but am concerned to the longevity of the muscle in looks. Do any of you guys feel that the VROD will have a dated look in a few years and wish you had gone with a more traditional model?

Thanks

I don't have any regrets at all! I used to ride sport bikes (ZX9) until I bought my first Harley and have had 3 V's since. I rode the first one from AZ to KC a couple of years ago. I do however not like the looks of the F (muscle). I think it is ugly but that is my opinion.

I think both the muscle and fat bob are ugly.

IMO the fat bob looks like it ran into something...the forks need more rake. Dual headlights look horrible IMO. And the stock tires look like they belong on a dirt bike.

They screwed up the rear fender on the muscle. It was chopped too short.

The two bikes just dont seem to have any flowing lines to me at all.

I had rockets, I like the harley alot better.

If I was you I would go ride a bunch and then make up your mind! I bought my vrod after owning a built GSXR with N20 and a Ducati that I sank about $25000 into.I wanted a harley ,but something that still had *****!! I got it!!! The vrod is fast for a HD!!!The muscle is ok ,just didn't like the riding position.

I think both those models could look real dated, real quick.

No, I'm not worried about my DX looking dated, and I my Low Rider was great too, and classic looking.

I think the DX or the AW would be better choices. The AW is probably the easiest to re-style to make look a little more classic-like.

Man, if you're going from a sporsbike, the Fat Bob is going to feel like a minivan by comparison unless you really mod it up. Make sure you test ride a Big Twin before you buy and see if it's even in the ball park of what you're looking for. 60hp pushing 700ilbs really is pretty slow.

Dated looks on a Harley? How about everything in the Dyna line?

As a Ultra Classic rider I wanted something different to ride alone. Bought a Fat Bob. Only Dyna I ever liked. It was differrent. Seems fairly quick and nimble to me and is fun to ride. When I saw the Muscle I was ready to sell the Fat Bob. Haven't ridden the Muscle yet but those I've talked to who have really like it. Either bike is nice but I would bet you would be happier with the Muscle if riding fast is what you still want. The Fat Bob is comfortable enough to be an all day ride. I don't know about the bikes becoming dated. Seems a lot of harley guys like the dated look. Heck, every motorcycle line but the V-rod looks dated. That's part of the appeal, and they still get copied. Also, don't worry if other people think the Muscle or Fat Bob are ugly. There are many more who don't give their opinion that like both bikes alot. It's your opinion that counts. Your the one puttin' out the cash.

If the Night Rod hadn't found us, we would have been on an 06 Soft Tail Standard with the K/Q seat. The one we were looking at was almost the same red as the red on our D.
We wanted a "Harley", we got a V-rod. No regrets at all. As I've mentioned before, the D chose us. I think it chose well.

Dated, no. Classic, yes. There is a difference.

I agree.

I think the FXD, FXDC and FXDL look classic. I think the Street Bob to a lesser extent. I think both the Fat Bob, and the Muscle are relatively trendy looking, and may appear dated in a few years...
