Thanks guys, question on purchasing: What kind of deals are folks getting on new V Rods? Do V Rods hold their value pretty well?
Great deals can be had and no, they don't hold their value both for the same reason. VRods are watercooled so they are not considered Harley's to Harley purists so they have a very small following and are hard to sell.

The airheads do not know what they are missing!
I did not buy it for the resale, and I never looked into it. I bought it to ride it for a very long time.

I agree and bought mine because it's a blast to ride (decent handling and power). The closest thing to a sport bike Harley (excluding Buell) has. Ever since I saw a Road King on Pass Time run mid-10's with a BIG 200 hp S&S, I am considering a Street Glide, but have been looking into big bore kits to go with it. 100+hp and 100+ft.lbs. torque here I come ...
Might want to look at a used V-rod. You can find a bunch with low miles and about half their new price. This year I bought a used '05 Screaming Eagle for under $12k - looks and runs great! V-rods are very nice machines, and they are a great handling bike as well. Haven't ridden 2-up on it yet, but I doubt it measures up to a touring bike for passenger comfort.
ya i think they do i would buy one used and then you dont take the hit from the dealer
... without a doubt, this is definitely the best way to go. Check Ebay and Craigslist. When it gets a bit colder, it will be a great time to buy. There are many good deals to be had in the winter months, especially after Christmas when many spend way too much and see that bike tucked away in the garage as a way to get some quick cash.
It is funny how I got such a great deal on mine ... it was 4 months after I had first seen it on Craigslist. The buyer still had it and said that no one believed there was nothing wrong with it for the price. It was literally never riden in the rain. I cannot say that now though!
I'm a long time lurker on this board and a brand new owner of a Night Rod Special, (black denim). Most of the pads and sissy bars go up to '11.
Do any of you have experience with the new ones for a '12?
I appreciate any input.

I could be wrong but I don't think there were any real changes between 11 and 12. So they might just take time to update the part numbers to reflex the 12.
