Default Question on eletrical

Hi everyone.
I have a 2011 VRSC and have purchased a brake light for my helmet. The way it works is to clip on a two wire transmitter ( hot and ground ) to the electrical braking system. When the brakes are applied the transmitter kicks on and the wireless brake light on the back of my helmet lights up. The only problem is I'm not to sure where to look for the wiring system for the brakes on the V-rod. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

How do you like the light and what kind is it?

First thing when getting home with a new bike is to get a service manual. Then once reading it it makes asking questions easier or very non existent.

Most consider it bad form to come in and ask for copyrighted information. Not to mention it can cause sites with a wealth of knowledge and helpful people to get shut down.

Wow, I didn't mean to cause all the trouble or break any rules. It truly was an innocent questions and I didn't mean to be in bad form. This is my first bike, ever, and there seems to be so many unwritten rules. I appreciate the input. I will get the service manual. The brake light is "New Wireless Helmet Brake Light 18 LEDs for Motorcycles", by Riders Gadgets.
Just one more question. Do you get the manual from the dealership or can it be ordered online?

Its all good. Its a learning thing. You can get it at a dealer (if they happen to have it in stock which is rare) and pay the higher price, or get it from one of the 10% off delaers like lake shore harley. However google the service manual for your year and model and you will prolly find it cheaper.

As great as this site is overall, the activity for the vrod section is limited. 1130cc.com has the experts and some of the things they have done (especially in the bagger section) is simply amazing.

hmmm.. unless I'm reading something wrong, I don't see where he ever asked for a manual from anyone.

The manual is a must though. Get the service manual and get the electrical service manual. you'll be glad you spent the $100 and change for these 2 books.

Your transmitter can be hooked up as follows. Remove the tail light
Hot from the transmitter goes to the red/yellow wire at the taillight. the ground, simply hook it to a good solid ground.
