Default Good Deal?

I know a good deal is always in the eye of the beholder, but I thought I'd ask the experts here.

A friend is looking at a 2007 VRod with 5k miles. says "custom exhaust" but I don't know which and which VRod model it is.

Any issues with the 07 VRods?

Thanks in advance!

It will depend on which model as far as price goes. Vrods are great bikes,he can check 1130cc.com for more info than he will ever need.

6 months ago I bought a 2007 night rode special with 3k in custom parts for $10,500. It is a great bike and came with a 240 rear tire. If your friend wants the fat 240 tire he needs to look at 2007 and newer vrods because most of them have 240 tires. You do have to be careful though because the 2007 nightrod and 2007 streetrod have 180 tires and your friend might not want that.

The newer models also have the 5 gallon gas tank and brembo brakes. They really like the fuel and even with the 5 gallon tank only go about 150 to 175 miles to the tank.

Do yourself a favor and shop around. Since the VRSC line is the bastard child of HD you can usually find a much better deal on them versus their traditional line of air cooled bikes.

I don't believe the 2007s had closed-loop EFI systems nor ABS. I believe the EFI system made some advances that were first applied to the 2008 model. ABS is a very nice feature to have on a motorcycle. The Vrod offers fully-independent ABS braking (anti-lock brakes). By motorcycle safety studies recently ABS is worth about a 30% reduction in accident rates (on the street). The only issues I know of.
