I just brought the 2012 V Rod Night Special, and man.. I have the fever. Last month I was waking up at 4 am wanting to ride and I did ( a few times). I go riding with a few hardcore Harley guys and don't consider my V Rod a Harley....... (I know that's silly)..But that's ok, I love my bike... The other day, for the first I was on the Highway doing 80 and the sun was setting,,, It was like being in a movie, I was in heaven awsome feeling,,,
Congrats on your bike. I never get the fact that some don't consider a V Rod a "real" Harley or Sportster a girls bike. Who gives a crap what kind of bike you ride, as long as you respect it. I ride for me, and share a mutual respect for other "bikers", as long as they respect their ride. I shake my head at the crazy driving crotch rocket though.

Does this feeling ever go away????
I have own 3 vrods over the years and i cant wait to get up in the morning and ride my v. And no the feeling does not go away. Tell your riding buddies the the vrod was willie g was the vrods baby it does not get more harly then that
Welcome! And no the feeling never goes away when you own a V Rod. I have an 09AW.
I'm 65 now I've owned several Harleys - but the V I have now I have owned twice.
Absolutely the best HD I have owned. Fast and fun - Forget about it "not being a real HD" its the HD of the future.
The feeling does go away.......When you sell it, then you end up like 10 RED RK and stalking your dealer until they sell it back to you. The VRSC line is phenomenal and for all the "real" HD riders that give you crap, remember, it's just an opinion and if you let it get to you then you validate that opinion.
That feeling never goes away. I it does quite riding and find something else that does. That's what it's all about. As far as all the vrod haters. Who cares. I ride a street glide. Don't really care what you ride. As long as you ride.
the funny HD airhead are the ones that come up to you at a light and rev their engine and look at you then down the road. i let them take off like their back tire was on fire and i just take off like i always do. then when they catch up to me at the next light they are all nice and quietly idoling at the light.
