Default New V-rod model?

At the risk of starting or repeating a rumor, I had to come to the place where it might be confirmed (HDForums). One of my co-workers has a son that works at the HD plant in Kansas City. The son told his Dad that they had a meeting at the plant before Christmas and one of the HD Management types mentioned that they would be setting up a new line for a V-rod model that was going to be HD's replacement for the now defunct Buells. And it would be based on the V-rod. Has anyone else heard this? And if so what have you heard.

V-Rod motor is pretty tall, too tall for the other model frames iirc, so who knows.

It would be nice to see that engine in a decent styled bike.

Easy Perk! I think harley did a great job in styling the v-rod. It has good lines and flows from front to rear. It's the slickest bike they have built to date.

Hey, at least I complimented the engine. I do see a guy up here riding one and admit it looks cool as hell. I even fell i love with the Nightrod when it came out. But from all I hear they are not comfortable for more than a few miles. If you own one let me know your opinion.

Funny, seems the only people smitten with the V-Rod is Harley. Since it showed up in '02, the dealer by me would only have 2 in the showroom at any given time. I rarely see one on the road, plus resale looks pretty flat on them. I bet being it was Willie G's baby, the moco will keep it in the lineup until he loses interest in it.,,

Personally I would love to see the Vrod motor in a different frame. Something with different ergonomics for both the rider and the passenger.

I have a fatboy also, but honestly my v-rod is more compfortable to ride than the fatboy to me. The only complaint I have about the rod is about 140 or so it's hard to keep your feet on the pegs!
