deciding between screaming eagle and nightrod special
hey folks...
im deciding between a screaming eagle and a nightrod special.
my local dealer sells them at msrp.
is msrp a good deal, or should i try to get them to discount?
will i get a better deal if i wait?
im thinking of maybe getting the nightrod spc and putting the screaming eagle engine kit on it from the dealer. maybe some other hop ups too....
any advice?
thanks
RE: deciding between screaming eagle and nightrod special
Don't wait too long for the VRSCDX, it could disappear. MSRP is good in my opinion, but what's the worst they are going to tell you if you try for a discount? "NO"? You can swing a better deal if you wait, but you'll also be waiting to ride one.

the nrs is a very nice bike. i have a 06 vrscse and love it. with a se there is really nothing that you need to do to it. i would not trade mine for any other bike. i guess it will just come down to what you like.

Yes, be comfortable with MSRP.
Believe all the Screaming Eagle versions of the V-Rod are hot. Have come very close to picking one up, but decided recently on the Night Rod Special. This thing is hot as well. Go with your heart onthis choice.
Yeah, I thought about the 1250cc engine, and even the potential Milwaukee may drop a six speed tranny in the '08 V-Rods -- following the moves in their other products the past two years. But you know, I'm not into street racing the V-Rod, or live for jack rabbit stoplight starts, or finddelights in going 120+ mph on public roads with traffic. Thus, more than content with how the VRSCDX delivers arm extending power out of the box... in stock form.
Maybe someday I'll bump the displacement, but no rush. This I know, I've made 10% engine power increases before with various bikes, and must really concentrate to sense the marginal improvement.
