Hi everyone, I'm new to the V ROD world...Just bought an '04 off of ebay and am going to pick it up on Friday...It's about 370 miles away....Here's my question, I'm wondering if it will fit in the back of my wifes '01 Caravan if I take all of the seats out[&:]? Or could someone give me the outside dimensions of their V ROD?(height, width at handle bars ect)I sold a Hayabusa a few years ago and the guy showed up with a windstar van and it fit right in there. I've got a pickup but it's supposed to be blowing snow pretty bad on Friday...
Thanks,
George
i am in the same boat but i bought the street rod so i guess it will sit even higher. i was looking to rent a mini van to haul it home. anybody know who makes the highest minivan? sorry for hijacking your thread.
The V-Rods are one loooooong bike. Easier to bring a sportbike in a van, though some low vans can be tricky, necessitating removal of the windscreen and mirrors on occasion. Loading and unloading with the low ceilingcan be tricky. When I brought the VRSDCX home in the back of my long bed truck it was the first time I couldn't close the gate with a bike in back.
FWIW, Chevy Astro vans are higher as passenger vans go. I think a V-Rod in the back of a passenger stylevan would be a tight squeeze if desiring to close the rear door.
My suggestion... rent a U-Haul truck or cargo van. Or a trailer. Brought a bike home from 1000 miles away via U-Haul once and would do it again if not having a truck or trailer.
My bro inlaw just called and said the same thing. he works for penske. will post up pictures when i get it. we have an ice storm rolling in tommorow so i may be waiting till saturday to get it.
If you have a center console in your van forget about it. The bike is long enough that you will need to remove the middle and rear seats and have the front wheel between the front seats. The ol' lady had a Caravan and I doubt I would have tried to put it in there. sfarson is right. It would be easier to rent a U-Haul rather that trying to shoehorn a VRSC into a mini-van. Single day rentals are fairly cheap.
Thanks guys, I'll probably go with the my pickup...I dont want to drive 370 miles just to find out it wont fit! I might not be going tomarrow due to the blizzard we are going through right now anyway[:@]..
