Default HELP - Moving foot controls forward!!

Hello to all - new bike owner, please help.

Have bought a Night Rod with center foot controls, but with such a low seat, the bike is almost unridable.

The salesman said for three to four hundred dollars, i could move the controls forward. Is this the case, how much does it really cost to move the controls forward and what does it take etc.

Guys, please help on this as i need to sort this out urgently. Thanks in advance for all replies.

Be cool.

Move them, you'll be happy you did. Imagine riding with your feet out on the highway pegs all of the time. That's where the forwards locate.

I want to ask the same question. My dealer has a good deal on a 2007 Night Rod. I find it very comfortable except the mid controls are unusable for me. To convert it to forward controls I figured you can just get all the OE parts that come on the standard V-Rod. But how do you mount the master cylinder for the brake. Doesn’t it attach to a tab that is welded to the frame? This tab is missing from the Night Rod. Also how is the brake light triggered? Is it a wire off of the master cylinder? That would have to be lengthened I think. This was the only V-Rod in stock so I could not do a comparison at the dealership.
Thanks for any insight, Dave

in addition to moving them to the forward position i have another suggestion. I have an 07 aw with forward controls. I was finding that they were still a little cramped feeling so i purchased a pair of mounts that are suppose to move the pegs back about 2 inches for a shorter person but i turned them around and made them move forward 2 inches. What a difference, my feet rest much better and the brake pedel and shifter are now no longer in the way! enjoy!

I have the reduced reach pegs on my 03 A. Got them from the dealer when I bought the bike. They are definately more comfortable for me (5'8") than the standard forward controls.

There are a couple of places on 1130cc.com the tell how to do forward and dual controls on the D. Ocassionally there are DX owners that want to swap.
I bought the D to get the mids with the highway pegs. Also because it had the second highest ground clearance. Only the R has a higher frame. Funny thing is only the DX has a lower seat. At 6'2" I love the D just the way it is.
