New guy here
Hey all I'm Jeff. I am currently in the Middle East on an Air Force deployment. Planning to buy a new (to me) bike when I get home.
I have previously owned a 2004 Dyna Low Rider which I really loved a lot. I also have owned a 2003 Sportster.
The wife did not like the back seat of the Sportster. When I rode it from Florida to Sturgis, I was pretty sore
Anyhow, I was looking at probably buying a Street Glide. I think newer than 2007 for the six speed (something I was always wanting on the Low Rider) and the 96 inch motor. I don't know very much about the FL series bikes. I am not wanting to start a this bike is better than this bike thread. Usually when I want to try and learn about something I look around on Wikipedia to get familiar with it. The wiki was lacking in this area.
So if someone can school me on FL series or point me to a FAQ or sticky that I didn't see...
I would appreciate it.
Some concerns I have about buying a Street Glide are lowering it, the Low Rider I had was perfect for me - 5'9" and back seat comfort for the wife. I plan to do some Long Distance Riding with it. I have a friend that competes in the Hoka Hey race every year, I don't think I'll be doing anything like that or any Iron butt type of stuff but I do plan to traverse a good portion of the good old USA !
