Default Introducing myself...

So, hey there guys and gals! I'm buying a Harley this summer after a windfall comes in and haven't settled on a certain type of bike yet. I have a bad back, so long trips are definitely out of the question for me and even in my truck, I average 6000 miles or so a year. My wife does all the driving. That leaves me to enjoy putting to Home Depot occasionally or to McDonald's for a burger twice a month. Now you get the picture. I will have this as my sole means of transportation because Southern California weather permits it and in my subdivision all the parking is covered and patrolled. As a family, we'll take my wife's car going anywhere. So, having said that, I've got three or four months of research to do before payday and NBD... I don't know what's gonna be the best fit for me. I absolutely love the appearance of the Touring style but not sure if it would be too heavy at a red light. Love the style of the Dyna but not sure if feet that far forward would put my low back in a bad position too quickly. I'd love to hear from other folks who might have back issues that ride. At the very longest, I would be on the bike for 20 minutes and THAT'S stretching it considerably. Most times likely under 10 minutes. Feedback, feedback feedback! Thanks in advance...

Welcome from Texas. I see bad back, if riding in a truck is tough, I don't know. Harley of any type are not totally back friendly especially if you think weight may be an issue. Go to the local HD dealer and do some tast riding of varied models. Wish you the best.
