Only problem with your choice is you didn't bring it home! Great bike, great ride. I ride and Electra Glide as I wanted the fairing, radio, and place to put my stuff when riding with the missus.
You cant go wrong buying a RK, however if having a radio is of big concern, a touring bike with the batwing fairing is great, or if you want the ultimate in ride and a radio, the Roadglide is the way to go. Some people dont care for its looks, but these are only factors that would mostly only weigh if you are a high mileage biker. The RK is one of the most versatile bikes on the market with its stunning looks and its high mileage capabilities. I would tell you get the bike that most appeals to you.
We went to another HD dealer today. They had a Firefighter model Road King in stock. Looks great and is a little less money than the RK Classic.
They tell me I have to apply to buy one. The sales Manager was off today and he is the one with the details on pricing and delivery info. Will make a phone call tomorrow.
Any one have info on buying the RK Firefighter model?.
I have the police equilivant of the Firefighter Special. It is a standard Road King with special paint and tank markings. You have to be a firefighter or retired firefighter to buy one, and you have to send paperwork to Harley verifying such. I also had to sign an agreement not to sell for one year.
If you are a firefighter, and you like red, then this is the bike for you. You get your Roadking, but in a model that not everyone can have. It's a deal Harley does as appreciation for the service you provide.
I have the Peace Officer's Special Edition(Dark Blue) in ElectraGlide Classic and I love the bike and love the concept.
