Thanks for the welcome. I love the looks of those Irons, but that wasn't really the bike for me - I wanted the stretch. How do you like it so far? I'll be passing through Alabaster from time to time and plan to hit a few bike nights up at the HOD H-D in Pelham this summer. You ever go to any of the events up there?
I'm loving it! I couldn't handle the stretched out bikes and originally went looking for the Superlow, but they were out of stock. I sat on the new Street 750 and planned to test drive it since it's very similar to my first bike (78 Kawasaki KZ200). When I went for the test drive, I scheduled for the Street and Iron. Took the Iron out first, and after 15 minutes of riding, came back to the dealer and told them "no need to test the Street, I want this one! I've changed the seat to a solo reduced reach, added a detachable sissy bar and windshield, long stem mirrors , and tried the forward controls, but couldn't reach them and be able to hold the handlebars I've got 4" curved risers on the way and a set of Vibranators.
I haven't made it to Bike Night yet, but do plan to go sometime soon. Only problem is having to get up and out early on Saturday mornings for karate class. When the weather cooperates, DH and I go riding around Pelham, Alabaster, Calera and Montevallo. Last Sunday, we took 25 from Montevallo to 82 and 22 to Clanton, then Calera to 31 back to Alabaster (119 miles total). Lots of bikers on 25 and 82 and it's a nice easy ride. You'll probably see us sometime... DH rides a 1998 Kawasaki 1500 Vulcan Classic and mine is the Harley.
Sounds kind of like me. I was looking mainly at Street Bobs and Wide Glides, but I knew I really wanted the WG. I wouldn't even test anything else first. When I rode mine for the first time, I just knew it was right. I bought mine from a guy in Tennessee. Pretty much stock, but it came with both La Pera solo and H-D Sundowner seats, quick release padded sissy bar, and a pair of H-D half helmets. I just put on a new set of Pirelli Night Dragons. Next I want to tackle a handle bar swap.
I'll keep an eye out for you guys. Y'all be safe too.
