I have a cousin who lives in Hawaii who rides and I wanted to ride with him so I took the MSF at age 31 and got my license. Then proceeded to ride nothing but rental Harleys on Oahu for the next few years. This was 2000/2001 and the job situation was dicey. Didn't want to plunk down $18K on a bike and lose my job the next week.
By 2005 I figured what the hell, still had my job and I really wanted my own bike. So I bought a 2005 Road King.
Only have 29000 miles on the Road King in the 10 years I've been riding it. I can't say I have a single complaint about the bike but I do find myself wanting something with a stereo/gadgets sometimes. I'm thinking about a Street Glide or maybe a Limited if I can bring myself to spend the money.
I've been reading articles/posts on this site for years but never took the time to post a message. We'll see if that trend continues.
