Not new to Harleys, but I just traded up from my beloved 2003 Sportster 1200 Custom to a 2009 Electra Glide Classic. I know I'll miss the 'raw edge' of the Sportster, but I'm really enjoying the smooth power delivery and relaxed cruising ability of the tourer.
I am finding maneuvering the beast a little daunting. I can sit with both feet flat on the ground when stationary, but I don't feel confident shifting it backwards and forwards. Anybody got any tips or tricks to make this easier? Or should I think about lowering the bike?
If any fellows out there could point me to threads that will help me I'd appreciate it.
Looking forward to some good summer riding, good luck to all of you,

Just don't be put off by a few smart remarks. People sometimes give everyone a hard time, but mostly in fun.
Have you given a riding course a thought ? It has helped many that thought they couldn't learn anything....LOL !
Learn to counter steer !! Don't fight the bike just show it where you need to go with the front wheel......it will pick itself up.
Ride Safe !
