Just bought a 2002 Sportster 883 Custom....my first Harley! I'm thrilled but I do have a question. Is the clutch supposed to be so hard to handle? Can it be adjusted or the spring changed to not be so tough?
hi MJ,
welcome here and hope you enjoy the place. were you in spiderman??? nice looking bike, i'm sure you're proud of that sweet ride. if you go to the do it yourself help forum and go under the clutch problem section, TC has a nice link that will lead you down the path you're looking for. the new 06 models have an easier clutch mechanism and it can be applied to older models as an upgrade. check it out and good luck with the bike. thanks for the pic. stay safe

Welcome from Washington State. I had the same problem with my clutch and I found some helpful info in the do it yourself section. I used some stuff called bike aid and lubed the cable well and then followed the easy clutch adjustment in the forums here and that made a huge difference. I also ordered an Easy clutch and I will let you know how that goes when I get it installed. I have and 89 1200 Sporty and I have a great time on it.
Welcome to the forum. Nice ride. Check out the New easy clutch kit from HD for your clutch problem. I have a 06 Street Bob and its has the new easy clutch. You can hardly tell its there.
