My problem is ignition in nature.
the other day I rode into work fine but when I left she was running real foul and I pulled her off the road for some diagnostic work. After a few minutes I figured out she was only firing on the front cylinder. Assuming it was the spark plug or wire I made a swap and put the suspect plug into the front plug wire. I had a good spark! So i thought it must be my plug wire so just to be sure I swapped wires thinking the front cylinder would not fire on the suspect bad wire but not SO. From that bit of information I gatherd the coil is not firing on both ports just the front one.
Is that possible? I understand this is a dual spark coil so I figured that if one would not fire then both would not fire. I looked around the forums today at work but did not see a real good FAQ on how to test a coil with a volt/ohm meter.
Does anyone know the technique to determine if the coil is defective?
