I just bought my 1st used Harley, a 2001 DynaGlide Superglide, 2500 miles. Looks well cared and garage kept. Previous owner said he has had the oil changed and carbs worked on last year and it had been stored with fuel stabilizer in tank. I have since since added new premimum gasoline and taken for a few 10 mile runs around town. My problem is, the bike has a hickup cant tell if it is fuel or electrical. Exhaust smells rich and the choke has to be on for bike to idle properly. Also yesterday. when excelerating from a stop the speedometor would bounce from 50 to 0 and the odometor would flash own and off. I could barley make it back home because the enginewould die when I would stop. Alsothe check engine light would comeonand off. Any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try giving the battery a good charge. Did he tell you if he ever replaced it? If your only getting some of the charge you need to run everything the bike will act strange. Do you have a volt meter. See how far the voltage drops when you hit the starter. Anything under 9v or so and head for the dealer for a new battery.
