Hi, I don't own a Harley, yet. My dad has an original '47 Knucklehead with about 47000 miles on it. I wish I had pictures to show because the bike is just amazing. He's had it since he was about 19, which was I'm guessing since 1968. I just turned 19 and just started really getting into bikes. I have done a few restorations on cars here and there, I have a '79 Firebird and I'm about to buy a '76 455 4-speed Trans Am soon to fix up using the Bird.
I want to start saving for a bike after that, but I'm not sure which Harley to go for. I really like the Dyna Wide Glide and that kind of style, but I wouldn't want to be saving for a new bike. A Shovelhead or Softail looks like something I would want too; that kind of "standard" style I guess would be the term for it. Any ideas? I can see at least a few thousand dollars would be able to buy me a fixer-upper bike, it's just that I have yet to find a fixer-upper or a TLC kind of bike. I figure since it is my first bike, I wouldn't want to buy anything too fancy. Plus I like building things up. Thanks.
Thanks. From briefly looking through the classifieds here and seeing lots of bikes I like for realistic prices, I might just have hope. I want an older bike that won't break the bank. 100thRK's bike is nice, the '83 FXSB for sale. Same with yours.
