Default Rear Highway Bars

So I have a 1990 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic (FLSTC). I want to add rear highway bars. Though they essentially look the same, sites say that newer model bars won't fit my bike. Are the dimensions so far off between my bike and say a 2009 that the bars just won't fit? Someone please help.

Yes if that's what you want to call them.

So I call them that, because it is a common name for them. I have never heard them refered to as rear highway bars. On the softail frame Im not sure when the last frame change was prior to the newest one. But I do know that Heritages have been available with different syles of bags over the years, so you would want to get the bars from the same year group as your frame and bags, to the do not stick out to far / high / low.

If you were to repost this in the softail section of the forum, you will get better assistance, as this section is intended for simply saying hello and introducing yourself.
