Nice Iron,always had a soft spot for them and I still have one in the garage today a '74 XLH.
Lots can be done for more power but if you want to ride it as a daily I'd not go too far with that idea as reliability is already pretty sketchy on these old bikes.
I had a '75 XLCH years ago taken out to 86" with an Axtel Mountain Motor stroker/ big bore kit,it was a mean *** beast with Baisley heads and 12:1 compression,big Sifton cams,S&S Super B carb etc. Fun to ride but hard to keep together and something else to try and start. lol
I'd suggest a mild cam upgrade some head work and a carb upgrade to a modern CV carb and also an electronic ignition kit and then leave it at that.
It'll be more reliable and have a seat of the pants boost in power without the risk of tearing up clutches and transmissions etc.
