Default New Guy

Hey all, I'm Mark and I just got my first HD. Been riding off and on for 50 years; mini bikes, dirt bikes, the on to the pavement. I've ridden mostly standards and sport bikes. Been riding a 2003 Buell XB9R for the past few years, great motorcycle btw. I bought a mint condition 2000 Fatboy with 11,000 careful miles. Looks new! Putting new rubber on it and I believe it is bone stock. Looking forward to getting good info, tips, stories, etc. I live near the Chattahoochee River outside of Columbus, Ga.

Welcome from Spartan Country, Michigan!
I tell a lot of new comers to the forum to get: Factory Service manual and the Parts manual. Get a three ring binder and record all your maintenance, repairs, accessories, etc. This will be a great reminder of what was done when. And great material to pass along to the new owner should you sell and upgrade. Also know how large your fuel tank is, and record your fuel usage. I have an app called Simply Auto that I record all my fuel used. I use the odometer and use the fuel gage as reference only. I reset the odometer to zero on fill ups, and I know I can safely get 200 miles on a tank on around town riding.
Good Luck!!

Default My Buell

Here’s my 2003 XB9R, with a few mods

Since this pic, I’ve added the large air scoop from XBR 12 (I think), a tinted Zero Gravity windscreen, correct decals, dropped the pegs 1 ½ inches, mirrors from a 2004 (new old stock) that ate slightly wider. A few carbon fiber parts.

oh....that will do!!!

very nice, sir

seeing as how you are a veteran rider, I can't imagine there's much advice I could give you, but.....I've ridden for 25 years on and off....despite that, I took a rider's safety course last summer and I had a blast, learned a lot, and they lowered my insurance when I provided proof that I passed
