Welcome! Look up the price of the mods on the web, and factor in labor if you can. It'll put the price in perspective, and it might help sell your husband!! Doesn't seem that far out of line for the bike, and I know you'll love a Sportster, I sure love mine! Good luck on the purchase, and post some pics when you can.
