I am a) new to the forum, and b) considering a HD. I have ridden adventure and sports bikes for a number of years, and thought that I might dip my toe into the cruiser scene. I test rode a Sport Glide recently, and loved all of it except the riding position. I am 5' 8" and cursed with a 32" inseam, before I start committing myself to more tests (which take a while to organise), could I ask for a few suggestions of HDs that I should consider? I felt contorted using the forward controls, and I am looking for a bike with a bit more range and some weather protection. It is the UK after all!
Many thanks for anyones thought.

Welcome. The bike you seek is a Triumph Tiger 800 Roadie. The foot controls are where God had intended them to be. (NOT out in front of you, like some lame assed designer that's never ridden a bike in his life, from Milwaukee.)
But, if you just GOTTA have an HD, look for a Dyna Superglide. (Then, you gotta put a windscreen on it that'll give you crazy buffeting. (Again, by the same ahole that designed the friggen "forwards."))
Ha ha, I have a Tiger 800 XRT - good recommendation! It is quite windy here, and the lower ride height would make a huge difference, but I am looking at this:
