Forum noob here from SC. Returned to riding last year after a 19 year hiatus when my older daughter bought her first bike. Owned several bikes previously, including a 1984 Sporty I could never keep running.
When I returned to riding, my first choice was an Evo 883. I couldn't really afford one, so the next best thing was a Suzuki Savage. Always loved the idea of a thumper and admired Suzuki for taking a different path.
Yet the yearning remained as did the memories of riding that Ironhead. After ironing out a few issues on the Suzuki, I found my new hobby was browsing bike for sale.
Although I would've loved an 883R, the few I found were too far and/or too modded up. The seller lowered the price on "Lucille," who was stock, and the same color as my 84. I rode her home the next day.
She's in pretty decent shape, but I'm still ironing out a few issues. The first was a primary leak through the clutch cable adjuster. Turned out to be a clogged tranny vent from a dirt dauber nest.
Joined the forum because it invariably came up during Google searches for any issue I've researched.
