Posted on this forum a couple of times but never really introduced myself.
I live in central NJ and bought my first Harley used in 1988. A 83 FXWG and had alot of fun with it. Sold the bike in 92 when I was getting married and looking at houses. Later bought a Yamaha V-Star 1100 when cash was tight and wanted to ride again, just wasn't the same. I now bought another shovel, another 83 FXWG. Needs some TLC and am looking at this forum for help. Stll have the V-Star, I took all the nameplates off of it to try and make it pass for a heritage classic. Looking forward to getting the Wideglide back on the road.
I installed 4" forward controlls, need to rebuild the dash, needs a new outer primary cover because one of the derby cover lugs is broken off and was siliconed shut ( Im looking for one). Has straight drags, no baffles. Thinking of putting in baffles to tame it down a little and make it more tunable. Har original Keihn carb.
Looking to repaint it matte black, put on some apes, and put a round bobbed rear fender on it.
