Completely dead or just won’t start? I had a relay problem and a new one would allow it to start until…so I just added the push button solenoid on starter. If I turned on power and got nothing, reach down with right hand and manually start it. It was on my 98 WG, EVO.
I carried a new relay on trips but still ended up push starting hence the manual solenoid on starter. All good after that.

Are you saying it won't turn over? If it's that, and it will crank and start after it cools down without disconnecting the battery, it may be a heat issue.
If it requires disconnecting the battery, sounds like it's just a bad cable with corrosion between wire and crimped connector.
